Zachery and Rhonda Memorial Fund

Donation protected
As of Thursday, February 26th, 2015 Rhonda Smith (Zack's mother) has now joined Zack in heaven. She appears to have passed from the same illness. Any donations to help pay for two funerals is greatly appreciated and desperately needed.

As most of you know, Zachery Glenn Smith left this world on Sunday, February 22nd, 2015. He had just celebrated his 19th birthday not even a month ago and was so full of life and in perfect health. Zack became ill with cold like symptoms this past week. The symptoms escalated and he began coughing up blood. It prompted him to go to  St. Joseph's hospital emergency room early Friday afternoon. His conditon took a turn for a worse by the time they admited him Friday evening. It was discovered he had a strain of the flu not very effective by a flu shot. The flu led to Zack getting pneumonia and his temperature had escalated. It was also discovered he had a staph infection. Friday night they decided to medically induce a coma to keep him still. Saturday, his organs began shutting down (kidneys and liver) and he was unable to detoxify his blood. Bacteria was in his lungs and also building up in his body causing a very swollen look. It was decided dialysis would be done on Sunday to clean his blood. His health took it's final turn for the worse and he went into cardiac arrest early Sunday morning and could not be saved. He was a loving and caring young man whose life was far too short. His mother walked her son into the emergency room Friday afternoon with what she thought would be a minor incident, and is walking out with an angel in heaven. Words cannot express the hurt and shock the family is going through.

This death was very unexpected for the family and the family is without life insurance. Any donations are greatly appreciated for funeral expenses and medical bills.  Please keep this family in your prayers as we try to help lessen the financial burden of this tragedy.
