Building Tiny Houses will always be our top Mission and goal, building for the Homeless who have no shelter. As many as it takes! One by one or ten by ten, we will continue to build no matter what. Shelter is a human right just as it is to exist, and Shelter is required to survive. Outside is life or death and without shelter, people die. It’s that simple. It has always been that way, and always will be. This thanksgiving i just received word that a woman named Linda whom i knew, and had asked me to build her a Tiny House so her and her man could have shelter together, had gone to sleep the night before, then when morning came she never woke up. She died in her sleep, cold and without shelter. This shouldn't have happened and it needs to stop. We can't do it alone and need your help! Please help us by supporting our work and making a Donation! Winter is here, and it is getting colder than cold. People are going to die without shelter. There is so much more involved in helping people get off the streets. It’s not just a one step process. One of the first things, and one of the most important aspects of what’s next is land.
We want the streets to be clean and safe for everyone. So we need to get people off the streets, into shelter and in a safe place. To do this we need land. The idea is to build Small Tiny House Communities. Communities where people can be safe, have purpose, get the resources they need to repair their lives, get better and be ready to re-integrate back into society when permanent housing becomes available. We want to add gardens to each community to provide not only something for people to do and be active with, but to also in part sustain their nutrition and food needs. Each community will need basic facilities as well. Community Bathrooms, showers, electricity etc. Communities will be both self-regulated as well as regulated by a partnership of Non-Profits we have teamed up with to help our residents get their lives back and grow.
In addition to getting people off the streets and into a community, and to keep the streets clean for everyone, there is a trash crisis that has gone along with people living on the streets, as there is no garbage service available to keep our streets clean at the rate citizens are dumping trash. We have selected a Dump Trailer for purchase to operate as a service to both the people on the streets and for the community to help clean up the garbage that has accumulated which will be run initially, a few days a week. We aim to employ the homeless to run this service, providing purpose, mission and self-drive to be a valuable part of fixing our streets and as well as contributing members of society.
Getting Clean.
Even if heavy funding becomes available, there is only so many houses and communities that can be built at one time. While these are in production, there are still many, many people out on the streets who struggle daily with obtaining the most basic necessities including one of the most important needs there is, a place to get clean. A shower. We need funding to begin the construction of our Mobile Shower and Laundry Trailer. While people wait for a Tiny House and Community to move into, they need to be able to get clean and wash their clothes. A No-Brainer, that nobody is going to hire or help an individual looking for work or housing who smells bad and has dirty clothes. In addition it’s a health hazard to everyone when people can’t keep clean and wash away bacteria. Providing jobs, training and creating a team of workers who have been homeless to run this mission is also key to the success of this project.
Base Camp
We need to secure a base of operations. Hundreds of people would like to jump in and Volunteer and we would love to accommodate them and you! Currently we have to build and facilitate services wherever we can which makes it hard to bring in volunteers and people with the skill sets, will and drive to help us. With a base of operations (a warehouse/Office) we can increase our output and success infinitely by having a place to coordinate, store materials and bring in volunteers to help. We get hundreds of emails asking if people can come help, but no place to put them. It’s time to take things to a much higher level and really change the world we live in. Your Donations are critically needed in order to make this happen. Please make any donation you can and help us save lives!
The How To
Thousands of people have reached out to us who don’t live here in Los Angeles, many don’t even live in the US, but have all asked for the same thing. How do I do what you’re doing where I live? Many people are just like me when I started with the first house, “no clue” how to build a tiny house. Fortunately one thing I have always been very good at is figuring out how to make things happen. Now that I have figured out how to create these tiny houses, I want to share the knowledge with everyone so you too can easily build a tiny house and help someone desperately in need of shelter where you live. The best way to do this is with a “How To” video. This way it can be saved, paused and re-played as many times as needed until the Tiny House you’re building is Complete. A Small part of your donation will go towards making this happen, so everyone who wants to help and get involved, but doesn’t live here in Los Angeles, can roll up their sleeves and get moving saving lives in their own community.
To serve and be forgotten
NO Veteran of any kind should ever end their service to their country and its people, only to go home and be forced to begin a new battle just to survive. The way our veterans have been lied to, cheated and treated is beyond disgraceful. Currently a huge plan is in the works to end this immediately and get these men and women off the streets and into shelter. More precise details will be released soon, but every Donation made will get us prepared and ready to roll out and put an end to this crisis that shouldn’t even be an issue in the first place.
