My name is Courtney Walker. In May of 2016 I completed my NCAA elegibility at Texas A&M University. Soon after, I got drafted to play for the Atlanta Dream. Unfortunately, I was cut just before the official team was announced. I made a major decision to go back to school in the Fall of 2016 in hopes of graduating in December. Now that the semester is over, my agent and I are communicating with teams overseas who are interested in me playing for their international team.
Sadly, this puts me in a bit of a situation because I am no longer receiving aid from my athletic scholarship and at the same time do not want to commit to a job or career because I could be leaving to go overseas at any moment.
My GoFundMe will be used for my needs including things such as my prescribed medications, purchasing new contacts and glasses, training expenses, storage fees before I travel, rent and other related living expenses until an oppurtunity overseas is afforded to me.
The support that I have already received and hope to continue to receive means the world to me! From family, to friends, coaches, fans and strangers, your help is greatly appreciated!
