My Science Classroom
As some you may know I have decided to go back to teaching. I accepted a 6th Grade Science position in Dallas ISD at Boude Storey Middle School. School starts August 28th, 2017. The school is a 98% low socio-economic level. I would like to buy supplies for my classroom including 5 chromebooks. Every school that I did obersvations with had at least 20 of these in the classroom. My school does not have them in the classroom. I would like to even the playing field and give my students every possible opportunity to succeed.
Each unit cost $250.00. Most of us will spend more than that in one year at Starbucks. $6.00 per day, 5 Days a week, 52 weeks is $1,560. Not asking you to give up your morning joe, just putting the cost in perspective. I will order all 6 when I hit my goal of ($1500) until the goal is reached. I want to get 20 but I can have my students work in stations with 6.
There are so many things I can do with the chrome books from Google Classroom, Labs, Research, Test and Quizzes, Science games and more. I can't afford 20 of these myself on a teacher salary. Please consider giving and give more than once. If you know someone that is looking for a worthy cause to donate towards please share this with them.
The rest of the money ($500) will be used to buy 20 beginner microscopes ($10.00 each), Timers set of 6 ($30.00 each set), Classroom scale ($35.95), 10 Density blocks sets ($23.95), and other things to make my science clasroom fun!
