My Life After A Stroke

January 8th, 2020 changed my life and turned my family upside down. I had a stroke at work and was rushed to the hospital via ambulance. I don't remember any of it, but according to my wife and the doctor, I coded in the ER and it took them 30-45 minutes to get me stable. I awoke the next morning about 4am and couldn't figure out where I was at first. I then quickly realized that I was in the hospital. My wife Tiffany had pulled the sofa bed all the way across the room to right next to the hospital bed and she was apparently holding my hand all night. After spending 11 days in the hospital I was transferred to a rehab hospital because I couldn't walk more than 15 feet, couldn't stand in one spot for more 2-3 minutes, had lost about 75% strength and function on my entire right side of my body, began stuttering and had uncontrollable tremors in my right hand. The rehab hospital was intense and wonderful, and really helped me slowly gain some of my strength back and taught me the beginning basics of walking. When I was discharged a month and a half later I had gained about 25% of my strength back, but still had horrible tremors. I was released to go home where my wife Tiffany took care of me, had to help me bath, get dressed and fix my meals for me. Almost exactly one week later I had a second stroke at home, a TIA (mini stroke). I again spent the night in the hospital and was released the next day. My only deficiency from that was short term memory loss made worse by vascular dementia. Now I don't even leave the inside of our house because I have to have help getting down our stairs. If anyone feels moved to donate or help it would go towards getting me a ramp because I still have to use a walker, and will use it for quite a while still. I feel very weird even mentioning donations, and I would be just as grateful for good friendship and your prayers.
