On Tuesday, Feb 17th we learned that Brodey had a massive tumor on his brain stem. He was transported to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis where he went through further testing and several more tumors were located. Emergency surgery was scheduled for Thursday, Feb 19th. After nearly 8 hours in surgery the doctors were able to remove 95 % of the largest tumor as well as one of the smaller growths. Brodey is currently in recovery at Le Bonheur with his family.

While the fear of surgery is past, Brodey has a long road of recovery ahead of him. Radiation and months of chemo are in his future and the entire family will be moved to St Jude in Memphis for nearly a year.
