Our beloved "Mr. Charles" J. Middleton, Jr. has made his transition home to that grand stage in Heaven.
Many of you have expressed a desire to contribute to the celebration of his life. In leiu of a funeral or memorial, we are currently making arrangements to do a "A Tribute to Mr. Charles" Gala Affair. This will be a formal event, so dress to impress. it will be held at a Las Vegas Casino (TBA) posibly on Sunday, February 21, 2016 from approximately 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. Your support in helping us fund this event is greatly appreciated..
About Charles
Charles Jasper Middleton, Jr. was born in Franklin, Louisiana to Charles J. Sr. and Viola Berry Middleton. At the age of six, his father bought him a clarinet, introducing him to music for the first time. He played in the school band and eventually joined the school and church choir.
His family moved to Houston, Texas, and then finally made the move to Los Angeles, California, Charles pursed his music in LA, and soon joined a singing group called "The Jaguars".
In 1992, Middleton made the move to Las Vegas. One night while at a karaoke bar someone suggested that he looked like Ray Charles. Middleton remembers the time when he was singing "My Funny Valentine" to his then girlfriend Joyce, now his wife and people began to comment on his resemblance to Ray.
He then ran to his car to get a pair of sunglasses, and came back to perform "I Can't Stop Loving You".
With performance homework and practice, he perfected his act and has performed his impression of Ray Charles ever since.. He became well known and respected for his Ray Charles impersonation especially in Las Vegas, where he continued to live and work.
Unfortunately for the world, Mr. Charles (C.J.) Jasper Middleton, Jr. has taken his final bow on this earth and will be celebrated and remembered by all who where fortunate to be touched by his talent and life.
