***Overwhelmed with gratitude at the response to our Evie. Her initial goal was met and we continue to place given funds aside for her therapy and future. Thank you for continuing to give to her. Thank you for caring about her future. ***

Our sweet Evie has encouraged the entire world with her brave singing during an EEG procedure. Honestly, y'all. We had NO CLUE how big this would become. But we should have known. Evie is such a bright light wherever she goes. She is that girl that leaves a little magic wherever she roams.

We adopted Evie when she was 4.5 years old. At that time she was failing to thrive for unknown reasons. She was more malnourished then I am comfortable sharing with the public.  At that point in time Evie could not eat or drink without assistance.

But, here is the magic and miracle, one day she sang to me and her sister. And our eyes got really big when we heard her obvious talent. It was then that we knew she had the fight in her to make it out of this.

We have had numerous requests by media to share Evie singing, "Scars to Your Beautiful." The requests keep coming!! We have had so many people request for a place to donate to Evie's medical needs or her future life needs. So here we are on GoFundMe, feeling a tad silly, yet hopeful that this helps Evie get all the future treatment and therapy she needs. Music therapy is not covered by insurance in our State at this time, and as you can see in her video, music IS medicine to Evie.

We have no idea what Evie's life holds for her future. She has no medical history from before we adopted her. Right now, we are simply trying to piece together the puzzle of her health.  Evie is undergoing genetic testing at this time. She is nearly finished with autism testing, waiting on step four of four.  Her EEG scan was not clean and she is at a higher risk for seizures in her future.

Evie was born without any eyes, a condition called anophthalmia. She sees no light or shadows. There is nothing that can be done for this medically at this time. Prosthetic eyes were a possibility simply for the reason of looking more like the general population. However, Evie hated them. It was incredibly difficult with her medical PTSD so we chose not to continue with them.

We believe she is beautiful just the way she is and that God designed her perfectly.  As she says every morning before school, "I am blind. I am smart! I am beautiful!"

Besides.... I'd say she has enough light of her own anyways. Shine on, Evie.    The funds collected will go towards music therapy lessons, any medical bills in her future and to assist her in her future needs. Her future is BRIGHT!

Evie had a wonderful time on our family vacation to Yellowstone! It was a lot of hiking so she got to ride in her favorite Tula carrier. She sang the National Anthem more than once, but I mom failed and didn't video it for you. oops.
We are home today and resting well. This weekend Evie participates in a small concert in her behalf!!

Thank you for your giving towards her life and future!!!
