Support Music Education for Youth in the Palestinian Refugee Camps of Lebanon

Your tax-deductible donation will go to purchasing musical instruments and hire music teachers for Palestinian refugee youth in the camps of Lebanon.
June is Refugee Awareness Month! In recognition, Aswat Ensemble in collaboration with World Harmony Chorus are producing a benefit concert scheduled for June 23, 2018 in Oakland, California. This all-volunteer concert featuring over 50 performers has a two-fold mission: 1) to raise funds for a music education program, including the purchase of musical instruments, for youth living in the Palestinian refugee camps of Lebanon, and 2) to raise awareness of the plight of refugees all over the globe and in particular Palestinian refugees, now in their 70th year of displacement. The program will feature songs from around the world, including Palestine, and focus primarily on themes related to home, childhood, and love.
Some examples of ways the funds will go to benefit music education for refugee youth:
$150 will cover the purchase of one instrument
$500 will cover the compensation of an ongoing music teacher for two weeks
We have partnered with LEAP (Learning for the Empowerment and Advancement of Palestinians), a volunteer organization providing education in the Palestinian refugee camps of Lebanon, to deliver the funds to their partner organization on the ground, the National Institution of Social Care and Vocational training (NISCVT), also known as Beit Atfal Assumoud. NISCVT is a humanitarian non-sectarian and non-governmental organization in Lebanon, operating community social and relief centers in the refugee camps of Lebanon, and providing a variety of services, including education.
We are more than happy to offer complimentary tickets, at the donor’s request, based on the following tiers:
+Donations of $50 - $99 - one (1) admission ticket to the concert (a $25 value)
+Donations of $100 - $149 - two (2) admission tickets ($50 value)
+Donations of $150 - $299 - three (3) admission tickets ($75 value)
+Donations of $300 and above - four (4) admission tickets ($100 value)
