MSP Museum & LC fire rebuild fund
The Massachusetts State Police Museum & Learning Center, is a volunteer run and operated, non-profit Chapter 501(c)(3) organization.
It provides an opportunity for visitors to explore the Massachusetts State Police’s rich historical past, through its interactive exhibits and learning center.
WHAT CAUSED OUR NEED:
On Saturday, February 25, 2017 at approximately 9:30 p.m. The Massachusetts State Police Museum & Learning Center suffered a two-alarm fire battled by Grafton Fire Department.
Heavy smoke and soot damage was sustained to the entire second floor of it building.
Minimal water damage occurred inside its first-floor exhibit halls.
Due to Grafton Fire Department's exceptional work the fire was contained and restricted to the second floor conference room, which resulted in water damage to the artifacts being kept to a minimum.
WHY WE NEED YOU:
Unfortunately as a result of the smoke, heat and soot exposure, most, if not all of the walls, ceilings, windows, doors to name a few things, will need to be replaced.
We are in need of financial donations to help offset the costs to rebuilding the Museum.
WHERE WE NEED YOU:
While the building in Grafton MA was up to code, in order to restore it to the standards required today, the cost is high, especially for a tiny volunteer based nonprofit.
Secondly, we greatly need assistance in securing replacements for the equipment, electronics and supplies required to run the museum's day to day operations.
Also, volunteers are essential for our ability to re-open and stay open and are always welcomed.
WHEN WE NEED YOU:
The Museum will require the funding as soon as possible to ensure our ability to safeguard the rich history of not only the Massachusetts State Police but a huge part of Massachusetts’ legacy, intertwined for the last 152 years.
Every bit helps and as per IRS guidelines a certain percentage is tax deductible.
Thank you in advance for all your support
