I'm headed back to MIDDLE SCHOOL!
For the past 4 years, I have been working towards earning my Louisiana Teaching Certification and I am so excited to begin working fulltime as a Science Teacher here in New Orleans.
Next week, I will begin teaching 6th and 7th grade at Young Audiences Charter School in Jefferson Parish. I will be spending my workdays teaching a group of creative learners about the wonders of the science field and how thinking like a scientist can lead to an exciting and fulfilling life. This year I hope to inspire my students to advocate for their own learning and ask meaningful questions about the world around us. I am looking forward to an incredible school year and will do everything I can to make sure students are receiving the education they deserve.
However, as the school is transitioning and in a traditionally under-funded district, I am left to teach my lessons with limited materials and classroom supplies.
Please consider donating to my classroom starter fund, where most of the funds will go directly to purchasing "Investigative Notebooks", for my students to take notes about the classroom experiments and activities. Additionally, I hope to purchase some basic experiment materials. Even the smallest donation can impact my lessons and the education of a deserving student.
