Hello,
For all of you who know Mr. Tunez, you know what an amazing teacher and man he is. His family recently got into an accident on the palmetto, it was a hit and run accident, they were clipped by a red Maserati and hit the wall and another car, They have had multiple surgeries and serious injuries. He and his wife have three boys, their 7 month old is injured as well! The other boys are fine Thank God.He is an amazing teacher who truly impacts the lives of his students and has supported us in our time of need. Because of the accident, They won't be able to work immediately and will need some time off.
Anything can help!!
A  group of his former students are banding together to try and help him out.
So please spread the word and get this out there. This can help hospital expenses and any others they may have.

Their story on the news.

Before I post Mere's message, I would like to add few things. First and most importantly, Mere is doing really well! She is still in a wheel chair, but thanks to the amazing efforts of her physical therapists (shout out to West Gables Rehab!) and her awesome and super dedicated mother Lorraine, Mere has regained much of the range of motion in her knees and ankles. She has been very strong and resilient; she will definitely be ready when the doctors clear her for weight bearing.

Additionally, thanks to the efforts and direction of Granada Presbyterian Church, the boys will begin receiving counseling very soon. They have dealing with everything much better since their mom has been home, but I feel this will still be a very important part of their recovery.

Again I cannot thank everyone enough for all of the love and support. We love you all dearly. Here is Mere.

**UPDATE FROM MERE **
Reunited and it feels so good! So many good things have happened since our last update. Theo was cleared by the doctor and got his immobilizer removed. This picture is the first time I held him in over a month. We were both so happy! I may have wept a little. Chris and I are now released from the hospital and with our boys. Being with them has helped me tremendously. Chris is walking short distances with a cane, and gaining strength everyday. I am learning to be more mobile in the wheelchair, I still have another month and a half of non weight bearing status. We are continuously overwhelmed by the support and prayers. We have not been able to thank everyone but know that every message, meal, phone call, text, donation and every form of support has been seen and grately appreciated. This has been the hardest obstacle of our life, and you all have helped us stay positive and find joy. Thank you. For anyone who has contacted my phone, I still don't have it. Hopefully I will be getting it soon and able to conect with the world again. Love and gratitude is sent from the whole Tunez family.

***A Message from Meredith***

Hello to all. We wanted to write an update to let everyone know our family is coming along.
Today is Chris’ birthday, and we are excited to celebrate with our little men! Even Theo is coming! He has been doing well. He is desperately trying to do all the normal things an 8-month-old can do, like rolling around and pulling himself up but his immobilizer is keeping him from doing so. We all have been praying for Theo to have no pain and to heal quickly, and we believe that God is answering our prayers.
Ronen and Luke are coming along as well. Ronen has been talking about the accident more and has been “fixing” us every time he visits us. Luke is the one who really showed signs of being affected by the accident. He is slowly getting better. At first, he was blaming himself for everything, which is completely heart breaking to hear. But now he knows it was not his fault and has warmed up to his mommy and daddy who are wearing all kinds of equipment on their legs. We cannot wait to be home with them and have things be a little more normal. We will also be looking into counseling for them, so prayers for that would be appreciated.
Chris and I have come a long way while in therapy. We are both in a lot less pain and taking less medication. Chris has become a lot more mobile and independent with his daily activities. I am coming along slowly behind him since I am non-wait bearing with both legs. But daily activities have become less excruciating, and I have a lot more mobility than I had at the hospital. As of right now we are scheduled to be here for another week but depending on our progress we might get out sooner.
We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone once again. Your support and prayers have given us joy during this difficult journey. When we see a donation and we read the name we are overwhelmed with gratefulness and joy. We hope you all are encouraged – in whatever you are dealing with in your own lives – in knowing that you all are bringing the verse below to life. Love you all.
Galatians 6:2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

To everyone who has supported us - financially, emotionally, with your Labor, with your time, with your influence, with your thoughts and with your prayers - Thank you. To Alexis, Chris, John and all my former students who made this GoFundMe successful, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. To everyone who supported us through other channels, thank you. To Rosh Lowe, the channel 7 news team, and all the strangers who supported us from the abundance of their hearts, thank you. And to the innumerable friends, family and colleagues who came through for us during, what could could have been, our family's darkest times, with all of our love, affection and gratitude, my family and I say thank you.
As the momentum of this page seems to be slowing down, I wanted to take a moment to than all of you wonderful people and to update you all on our progress. As the weeks and months go by we will continue to keep you all up-to-date as we can.

After spending 12 days in the hospital and undergoing multiple surgeries (3 for me 5 for Mere) we were finally transported to West Gables Rehabilitation Center last night to officially begin our road to recovery. Anyone is welcome to visit us here! Please don't hesitate to come if you want to do so. Rehab typically ends at 4pm so, if you do come, it would be best to come after that time.

Truth be told things have been difficult at times during these early stages. Above all, the time away from our boys has really been taking a toll on us. But, like we said before, we truly have seen the face of God in the support of our community. He continues to give us peace and encouragement throughout all this.

The official word from the rehab center is that I need two weeks of in-patient therapy. However, the physical therapist I saw today believes that I am well ahead of schedule and will be well enough to do out-patient much sooner. So, that's some good news.

They didn't give Mere a time table for her in-patient therapy, and we're honestly not sure when she'll be out. Her rehab goal is to learn how to transfer from her bed to her wheel chair, and from there to other things, using just her arms. She won't be able to use her legs for 3 months, so she'll have to do out-patient rehab to learn to walk when she's ready.

Theo James is doing just fine! He has to stay on his back most of the day, which means he can't really visit us, or even be caried that much, but he is healing quickly. He smiles and laughs and does all the things he normally does. And he's mostly off pain meds! Sometimes he gets fussy so my mom gives him Tylenol, but that might just be him teething. We have only seen him once since the accident, which has been really difficult for Mere and I. For him to be injured and us not being able to care for him is one of the hardest things to deal with during this time. But we are so grateful for my mom, dad, sister, my sister-in-law Carol and everyone else who has given their time and love to help Theo recover.

That's all for now. Love you all,
The Tuñez Family
