On August 10th, Greg suffered a cardiac arrest in the airport in Minneapolis.
He was on his way home to San Diego from a visit to see his family in Indiana.
He is currently in a medically induced coma after being down for 15-20 minutes.

Any donation, big or small,  will help Laura and family stay by his side.  We are far from home and have little information on what his recovery will look like or how long he will need to remain in Minneapolis. Donations will assist with lodging, food, travel, and medical costs. As many of you know, Greg and Laura own and operate their own Landscape Design business, so any financial assistance from friends and family will help immensely while they are not working.

Those of you who know Greg know what a sweet, caring, gentle man he is. The outpouring of love from our community is truly incredible and has been a comfort to us all. Thank you ❤️

Hi All,

Wanted to share a brief update. Dad is being admitted back into the hospital tonight. His blood pressure was extremely low at his doctor’s appointment today, so he was taken to the emergency room. While there, they discovered that he has developed a large ulcer due to the stress his body has been under this past week.
As of right now, his blood pressure is back to normal and his heart rate is good. He’ll just need a few days in the hospital to receive treatment for the ulcer and then it will be back to focusing on his recovery plan.

Thank you all for your comments, prayers, and words of encouragement! Please keep them coming :) !

With love,
The Eubanks

Greetings from SAN DIEGO!

Friends and family, Daddy Greg is HOME!
Our guardian angels, Eric and Brittany, were kind enough to meet us at the airport in Minneapolis and escort us straight to our gate. It was so great to see them again! After a smooth flight, we landed in San Diego where Dad was greeted by Ryan and Griffin. Little G was very happy to be reunited with his Big G. :)
Dad is home and we are thankful. This experience has forever changed us. I believe we are an even stronger, more connected family now. I’m grateful to have more time with my Dad. I’m grateful that I can tell him I love him each and every day and hear him say it back. I’m grateful that I get to watch my son play with his Grandpa.

Thank you all for walking beside us during this journey. We love you.

With grateful hearts,
The Eubanks

Hello Friends and Family,

I am THRILLED to share that Daddy Greg was discharged from the hospital this evening and will be flying home tomorrow morning! Rumor has it that he’ll have 2 very special TSA agents to escort him through the airport ;)

This chapter of our story is ending, but we will never forget the support and care we received from near and far. When I think about all of the comments, messages, care packages, and prayers from all of you, this quote from one of my favorite Harry Potter books pops in my head:

“But you know, happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light”

In my family’s darkest hour, you all kept the light on for us. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

Please be sure to check back in tomorrow for one last update :)

We love you,
The Eubanks

Hello Friends and Family!

There is no way I am going to be able to describe how amazing today was, but I promise to try!

Thanks to a detailed police report and the power of Facebook, we were able to connect with the 2 heroic TSA agents who saved my Dad’s life. Brittany and Eric came to the hospital today to meet my Dad and it was one of the most powerful moments I have ever seen.
We learned that Eric and Brittany responded to Dad within 30 seconds of him collapsing. Eric began CPR while Brittany called 911 and got the AED machine. From the time he collapsed to the time he got to the hospital, my Dad was shocked a total of 8 times. The visit with Brittany and Eric today was extremely emotional (in the best way) and helped my Dad better process what happened. It is a day that none of us will forget. We gained 2 more family members today. ❤️

The rest of the day was full of visits from Neuropsychology, OT, PT, and Cardiology. All were in agreement that he should be ready to be discharged by this weekend! Once discharged, he will need to stay in Minneapolis for at least another week for a follow up appointment and just to make sure he is ready for travel.
It’s hard to believe that he was in a medically induced coma four days ago!

We’ll hopefully have more information tomorrow about his long term treatment/recovery plan that we’ll be sure to share. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the ongoing support! We love you all.

With love and appreciation,
The Eubanks
