AS OF RIGHT NOW THE DRIVE ONE WAY IS MORE THAN THREE HOURS. THE HOSPITAL NEAREST TO GAVIN DOES NOT HAVE THE PERSONAL OR THE EQUIPMENT TO SAVE A SIX YEAR OLD IN CARDIAC ARREST! WE WOULD ASK THE HOSPITAL BOARD TO HAVE THE EQUIPMENT ON HAND BUT IT IS WAY OVER THEIR SMALL BUDGET!

Two heart attacks and emergency surgery for a ruptured bowel at age six. Gavin has been resucitated NINE times. Will the next heart attack be the one he can’t survive. The basic medical care to save him is non existent where they live. The local 911 delayed response last time because they were sure that a six year old having a heart attack was a crank call!!!
As his grandparents we are putting up half of the funds needed to get Gavin near the life saving hospital and first responders that he so desperately needs!
We are hoping to raise the remaining money with donations from good and kind people like yourselves.
Gavin was born prematurely and came into the world weighing almost four pounds. He has childhood heart disease, known as CHD. You may have heard Jimmy Kimmel talking about his own son being born with this same condition.
Gavin has had two heart surgeries, one bowel surgery and finally surgery to place a tubal feeding system in him in order to keep him alive. Eating is a big issue with these heart babies.
Getting him and his family close to CHOC is our goal. Will you help? Thank you from the bottom of Gavin’s big-little heart.
