Allen Morris Memorial Scholarship

Allen Morris was a 1988 graduate of Johnson University (then JBC.) He was serving as the preaching minister at First Christian Church in Cookeville, TN, but Allen was until the end a youth minister at heart. On the surface he was always goofy, fun-loving and JUST A LITTLE too loud - but below the surface was a love for people, for the Church, and for Jesus that knew no end. Allen influenced, shaped and encouraged more people than anyone knew, including generations of current ministers, missionaries and faithful Christians of all ages. He died suddenly and unexpectedly during a church softball game (He beat the throw to first!) in 2016, at the age of 50. A scholarship fund has been established in Allen's honor at Johnson University, and proceeds from this account will benefit a student-athlete on the student ministries program.
