Medical Treatment for MOOSE

This is Moose. Three months ago he was thrown out of a moving car on I-20 west of Atlanta. Moose has heartworm. Our vet believes at approx. 3 years old, he has a 99.5% chance of surviving the treatment.
Two days ago, we lost one of our best friends, Samantha, at 15 years old. Our vet knows we are "dog people" so she told us about Moose. He's a gentle giant, part St. Bernard and part American Bull dog.
We want to have him treated and adopt him, but cannot afford the treatment which is just under $1000. He will not survive more than 3 or 4 months without the treatment.
Please help give Moose a good life and us a new companion for our other best friend, Daisy.
