Monkey House Games Legal Battle
If you've been following Monkey House Games lately, you'll have seen that we're back to work with a vengeance. We've released new product, and re-released a couple of our classic V&V(tm) books as well. We're gearing up to announce the launch date for the big 3rd edition - which will have its own name, and not just a number. We're calling it V&V(tm): Mighty Protectors(tm), in honor of our original players and our very first V&V(tm) campaign. The Kickstarter launch announcement will be coming in the next few weeks. Watch for it!
Today we're officially shutting down this GoFundMe campaign. We'd intended to let it keep running 'til we hit $30k, and we got pretty close, but leaving it running wound up delaying the final calculation of donor rewards (because the question 'who gave how much' was a moving target). We'd rather come in a few dollars short than delay those rewards any further. This will also let those of you who've committed to monthly donations off the hook :)
THANK YOU once again, each and every one of you, for having our backs and helping us get through this. Your support made it all possible. We won't let you down!

We are pleased to announce that a settlement was reached between Jeff Dee and Jack Herman of Monkey House Games™, and Scott Bizar dba Fantasy Games Unlimited, which has successfully resolved all of the various legal actions between them to the mutual satisfaction of all parties. You can read our full press release here: http://monkeyhousegames.com/?p=1035
Over the next few days we'll review all of the contributions made via the GoFundMe, and begin the process of delivering rewards to our donors. An announcement of specific details regarding the upcoming 3rd edition rules is still forthcoming. Every donor who pledged for that will of course receive their PDF copy once it's available.
For the moment we're going to leave the GoFundMe project running. We're no longer under immediate severe financial pressure, but we did wind up spending a bit more than we've raised (minus GoFundMe's fee), so if you feel like kicking in a little more that would be gratefully appreciated. We will shut down the fundraiser entirely once we've hit the current (reduced) goal of $30k.
Thanks again, everyone. We will spend each day from now 'til forever, working to make sure we deserve the support you've given us.
Onward & Upward!
Howdaphuque they thought this was a good idea is beyond me. It's not like this industry is so big, that it wouldn't be noticed, and talked about, and remembered. And the only thing that keeps any publisher viable in this industry is the goodwill of the players.
I quit Buy FGU DUE TO THE ATTITUDE OF THE OWNER , Scott I think is name is was at Gen Con back in 2002 or 2003, and I meet him at a FGU shared booth, and I could be confusing him with some one else but it was a Disquieting experience to say the lease. I hope that others would get thier properties too like aftermath and Space opera. but I think those who wrote those materials are dead.
Villains & Vigilantes haven't heard that title in a long time, a long time. I remember playing this in Dayton OH at a board game store known as 'The Black Tower' in 1985. The game master at the time claimed to be the author but I know it wasn't Jeff, it might be Jack or maybe an impostor? Loved the game even though I had to play a minor character most of the time. Some Errol Flynn wannabe vigilante, don't remember what his name was.
