The Mitchell Adventure
Hello from the Mitchells.

We are John and Cali Mitchell, and we are on a journey this year, helping John fight Brain Cancer.   January 18, 2016, John called me and told me he was in the immedicate care center and needed me to come pick him up and take him to the ER, he had the worst headache and was having tingling in his left hand.
An MRI was done and on January 20, 20016 John went into surgery to have a biopsy on one of the four tumors that is in his brain.  Doctors confirmed that he has GBM Grade IV (Gioblastoma Multiform Grade 4) and that he would need chemo and radiation to stop the cancer from growing.  GBM Grade IV is the most agressive cancer in the brain and has no cure.  John went through 30 radiation treatments and chemo.  We have been so blessed through the journey God has put us on and I can't thank God enough for the skill and knowledge of all of the staff we have been blessed to meet through the Norton Cancer Institute.  Found out that we had hit the individual deductible and out of pocket maximum for the year on January 20th, less than 24 hours since the call to take John to the ER was received.   John was able to qualify for Short Term Disability from January through May and he is back to work full time and is doing really well.  The MRI done in July 2016 showed no  growth of the cancer cells, he is holding at where he is (GREAT NEWS).  He will be having MRI's every 12 weeks to see if the treatment is helping to keep the cancer from growing.  With this form of cancer, the growth is very aggressive.  We are asking for help to pay the bills we have at this time.  We know that there will be more MRI's and more chemo (he is taking it monthly at this time)  and we are taking each day as it comes.  John is in great spirits and we are very blessed to be given each day.   God has provided for us the strength we need to conquer each and every day.   We cannot express how thankful we are that you have taken the time to read our journey and appreciate each and every one of you.  When you see us, don't hesitate to say "HI", we love the company!
