Mitchell's Relocation Due to Irma

Matthew, Taylor and Baby Max Mitchell lived in Saint Maarten while Matthew was attending medical school American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. When hurricane Irma hit, they evacuated their home to seek shelter at the medical school’s campus in a building built to withstand hurricane winds. They weathered the storm safely, but the hurricane left the island so devastated that the medical school had to close down the campus. After island evacuation was arranged on military cargo planes to Puerto Rico, they are now settling in Chicago, IL. In order to evacuate as many people as possible, they could only take belongings that could fit in a backpack.

Donations will go to the Mitchells to aid them in establishing their new home in Chicago. It will pay for housing, furniture, clothes and needed supplies in a new home. Also, to help them recover from the losses of leaving their home in St. Maarten.

They are looking for housing immediately after they land (9/11/17). We hope to have donations for them within the next few days. The goal is set at $10,000 (a rough estimate of their semester living budget) but any and all donations are welcome.
