Together my dance partner Brie and I won multiple Australian and National Youth Ballroom Dancing titles in the year 2015. It's something we have both worked for for almost our entire lives. The countless hours of practise and the sacrifices we have made over the years to become successful dancers is nothing compared to the feeling of success and improvement. It's an empowerment like no other.
And for that reason alone we have both decided that we want to further our learning and understanding of the sport we love in the beautiful country of Denmark.
Why Denmark?
It hosts some incredibly talented coaches, dancers and also would be an amazing experience not only for our dancing to flourish, but to see a different side of the world.
Putting us right in the middle of a foreign country would admittedly be a scary thing for anyone!
However we are confident we will come back stronger, matured and a lot more focused on continuing our success as a dance partnership.
All we need is your help to get us there! Because unfortunately for us, ballroom dancing is not a cheap sport! It is not government funded in Western Australia, nor is it particularly popular lately due to the increasing hourly rates for dance lessons. Which means every dollar is coming out of our own pocket!
It's more than just seeing the celebrities trying to Waltz on the TV and all the glitz and glamour! Lessons, coaching, costuming, training and traveling are all huge expenses. It's not an easy task trying to budget it all, but we somehow manage.
Which is why we need your help!
We know it's a lot to ask, but all we need is the sum of about $15,000 to get us over there, feed us, pay for our rent and our dance lessons, with a few European competitions along the way.
Even if it's $5, $20 or $1000, every penny we receive will help get us over the line and help us reach one of our goals and we can't show you how greatful we would be to you other than giving the full experience of being in Denmark our absolute best efforts!
