UPDATE: On September 4th 2017 my sweet Mirella received her angel wings. Our family is so completely torn apart. Mirella was so very special. She had a smile that could light up a room. She smiled up until 2 days before she passed. We are trying to hold things together for our other 3 children. We need help laying our princess to rest. Anything you could spare to help us is greatly appreciated and much needed. We also have paypal account you can donate to. $1, $5, $7 I mean anything will help us and everything adds up. I don't know where to begin. I write this with tears streaming down my face. My daughter Mirella who is 8 years old was diagnosed with Primitive Neuroectodermal Tumor of the Central Nervous System 3/2015 when she was 6 years old. After a year of radiation and chemotherapy she was tumor free for a whole year and was quickly approaching a year out of treatment until a routine MRI done on 2/7/17 showed a small tumor growth in a new place. The previous tumor was attached to her spine and webbed through her brain and was not able to be surgically removed. This new tumor is in a spot where it can be surgically removed.
I may be jumping the gun by starting this GoFundMe but I do know if Mirella has to go into a clinical trial it costs $360,000 and I would like to be prepared if this is what it comes down to. No words can express how absolutely devastating this news is for my family. She has been doing so well and still is. She is not physically having any side effects of the recurrence which is why this was such a shock to us. We really need all of the help we can get to make sure that if a clinical trial in Florida or New York or even in another country is what our options are to make sure my daughter beats this thing again we want to make sure the option is available to her.
