My Miracle Eyesight Surgery

My name is Don Kolenda. I have no special claim to fame. I am a friend of Bill W. I have had several medical issues over the years, including Bi-polar disorder, heart disease at age 48, involving 7 grafts and 1 stent, and a deteriorating aortic valve. I've also had two total hip replacements in the last six years.
I have been married for 37 years to my high school sweetheart. We have nine (9) children, some of whom are grown and live outside the home. I am also a church musician, playing piano and pipe organ.
My eyesight has been bad since a young child. I started wearing glasses at age five. I have a prescription of -12 in both eyes and have worn bifocals for several years. I was told in my late '30's that I had the eyes of a 70- year old person.
I am only in my '50's now, and find that the cataracts in both eyes that have formed are now starting to cause blindness and require surgery. There is a new implant recently approved by the F.D.A. that will not only remove the cataract, but will restore my vision to a state that I have never had previously. Of course, insurance does not cover the cost of this.
On top of all this, I recently lost my job and no longer have any insurance to cover this cost. I'm still supporting my wife, five children at home, and my father, who lives with us.
I need to have the surgery soon, so the cataracts don't further damage my eyes. I'm asking for the amount of the surgery for both eyes, and appeal to your generosity and understanding so that my eyes will be repaired. That way, I can more effectively look for productive and gainful employment.
I am hoping to raise approximately $6,000 by October 31, 2016. Any amount you would be willing to contribute would be greatly appreciated.
