HELP FIL MAKE A MOVIE ABOUT A BRAIN
My name is Filipe Falé , I'm from Portugal and I live in London. I'm a musician, the bass player in a band called Pulmonic.
On the 23 of July 2016 I suffered a stroke ( a "brain attack" as they now call it) at the age of 36!!
The effects of the stroke came the following afternoon. I found myself suddenly unable to speak. I was unable to write, and my right hand side had become partially paralysed.
My recovery has been very good, considering that intially I could barely speak or name objects as simple as a chair or a glass. I couldn't hold a spoon with my right hand, which for a bass player can be quite desperate...
I still suffer from Aphasia, which is a disturbance in the formulation and understanding of language. But I am present and I need to talk about it. The old me is gone, but I'm in a process of rediscovering myself again. I'm scared but I'm also excited because every day brings new challenges and a new motivation.
I would like to share my story and show others how I'm becoming alive again!I'm making a movie to tell the story about my recovery through the music I love, I was afraid that would die because of the stroke, many avid listeners
I have been going to music festivals for many years and I don't want this year to be different! So... The plan is to go to five music festivals that are happening across Europe and the USA:
Tremor in the Azores, Portugal. in Sines, Portugal.
Desertfest in London., UK.
Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Spain.
FMM Sines in Sines, Portugal.
Aftershock in Sacramento, USA
I want to go there as a young stroke survivor, rock out with my Aphasia. I want to meet people, talk to the bands and raise Stroke and Aphasia awareness . I want to turn my fear into joy and I want to film it. And all of that dressed as A RABBIT !

The ability is within me, within all of us, to not be defined by these kinds of brain injury. We can continually make progress and strive to better ourselves. Through music and festivals I hope to put this idea into practice, and see where it takes me!
Markus Schroder is at the helm of things. He is an indepedent director and we immediatelly hit it off, talking about crazy ideas! Like making a song to feature in the soundtrack (Thanks for the studio time Misha !).
I am looking to raise £15,000. If it reaches that it will be spent on the movie. If that's objective is reached, all donations that continue to come half of it will go to the Stroke Association , to Aphasia Reconnect , and to the amazing people at Faro Hospital .
Thank you for all your donations and support. If you cannot donate, at least get in touch and buy me a coffee... It's good for my Aphasia and I can let you know about this new big adventure!
