Mindfulness for Everyone
“I’m saying yes more often to life and its challenges and to my vulnerability.”
- Dee*, refugee and a gender based violence survivor, who suffered from debilitating panic attacks.
After undergoing an eight week mindfulness course, when Dee felt familiar feelings of panic arising on crowded public transport, she was able to lower her gaze, follow her breath, and settle her racing mind, alleviating panic before it overwhelmed her.
Despite the current popularity of Mindfulness, research shows that people from disadvantaged or socially isolated groups, with the most challenging life circumstances, are the least likely to get access to mindfulness training.
“The Everyone Project” is committed to addressing this imbalance by removing financial barriers and providing funded eight week mindfulness training to the people who need it most.
Since 2016 we have already funded 55 eight week courses throughout the UK for groups such as carers, disability groups, the elderly or isolated, unemployed, refugees and hospice users.
And we want to fund more… so that we can reach people like Dee.
This course was life changing for her, and can be for others.
Please help us reach our 25k goal, and fund 25 more courses throughout the UK.
The first rounds of the Everyone Project were funded by kind donations from the Mindfulness Association and the Hart Knowe Trust. Find out more about the Mindfulness Association and Everyone here:
