Miller's Donut Pub Fundraiser!

After 20 years in the Army, I have decided to turn my hobby into a career.

But first, a little about me and mine.  As I stated I've been in the Army for 20 years now and I am scheduled to be a free man again come January 1, 2019, right after all of my leave is up.  We have been fortunate to have lived in Germany several times and we have been stationed all over the good 'ol US of A.  Moving every 3 years or so.  We've had several deployments, and I say we because my wife and daughter have had to endure them as much as I have.  I tell you this, not to somehow capitalize on my life choices but just to illustrate how different my next career choice will be from what we would call the norm.

Where my passion for donuts came from you ask?  I think it started in high school when we would show up late to 1st-period track practice to run by the donut place for the fresh hot ones.  Didn't we get into trouble, you ask?  Nope.  We bribed the security guard with a donut, of course!  Ever since then,  I have been a fan of a good freshly made donut.  I didn't start baking myself until about 10 years ago when I decided one day that we were going to have cookies.   Even when my wife declined to participate in said baking.  I started to really have issues with donuts when several places where we've been stationed didn't have any locally made donuts.  They did have your run of the mill franchises, but those just didn't cut the sprinkles with me.

Now we find ourselves, a family of displaced Texans, retiring in the great state of Indiana.  In a town with zero, count it...zero donut shops (not counting grocery stores, pastry shops, and gas stations).  This will not do.  This cannot stand!  So I ask of you, help us make this endeavor come true and to transform this town of Franklin, Indiana into the cornerstone of civilization and decency, with a Miller's Donut Pub.

So what is a "Miller's Donut Pub"?  It's a simple idea that we came up with.  I really enjoyed the Irish Pubs in Europe and thought that by bringing the warm pub-like atmosphere to a donut shop you would feel like you were at a friend's house, rather than at a revolving door.  Where the freshly made donuts and coffee can be enjoyed and conversations can be had.

We, my family and I, will need the support of donut fans and aficionados alike.  We truly would appreciate any support that you can send our way, to help make Miller's Donut Pub become a reality.

                                                                        Thank you,
                                                                        The Millers
