The Farm Service Agency was successful in forcing an auction at Milky Way Farm. The auction was held on Saturday, July 8th. The main barn is virtually empty and all the equipment is gone.

The Milky Way Farm was opened in 1984 by Robert Hayward Clark, Sr. Robbie's dad. Originally from New Jersey, Bob's passion for farming began at the age of two while spending summers at his grandparents small Vermont family farm. In 2004, Robbie joined him and together they worked side-by-side for 11 years until, sadly, his dad and partner died of metastatic prostate cancer at the age of 69.

Robbie's livelihood and his dad's legacy are now on "life support."  With persistence and determination, we continue to work to get Robbie's message out to everyone who cares about small family farms. They are essential to our state and national economy, landscape, and identity. We are fighters and we will not GIVE UP!

One of Robbie's gravest concerns is where the majority of his cows now live. However, because of the kindness and geneosity of 258 folks from across the country, enough money was raised to purchase milkers Melly, Sparrow, Buttercup, Sweetness and Pearl, and 15 young stock.   You can read an in-depth story about Robbie's plight in VT Digger or watch a story featured on local NBC News affiliate WPTZ Channel 5, WCAX Channel 3 News and VPR.

Today, this barn is empty. All the cows are gone.

Thank you, everyone, for your kindness, caring, and generosity. Pray for us as we move forward in rebuilding our Milky Way Farm.

WE ARE SO SAD, but the generosity of 258 people across the United States afforded us the opportunity to buy back 20 animals.
We will send pictures and information during the upcoming week. Right now, we are just trying to get through the day.

Dear Friends,
The auction is set for Saturday, June 8th beginning at 10:30 a.m. As you can imagine, this is a very stressful and emotional time for both Robbie and me. We are doing our best to prepare for the eventuality and are getting the "Ladies" ready for their new homes. On Saturday, the foot trimmer came for pedicures.
Words can not express the gratitude Robbie and I have for your generous contributions and words of kindness and support. Although it appears we will not meet our monetary goal, we are sustained knowing that our friends, old and new, joined with us in our quest to Save Milky Way Farm.
