Help Support Officer Smith's Family
UPDATE: Thank you GoFundMe for generously donating $10,000 to the family of Mike Smith which will cover the 5% fees associated with the fund! The friends of Mike Smith appreciate your donation to help provide for this wonderful family!
This GoFundMe page is being established in honor of Officer Smith, a veteran of the Dallas Police Department. On July 7, 2016, Officer Smith was shot by snipers while protecting the citizens of Dallas who were participating in a friendly protest on the streets of downtown Dallas.
Officer Smith leaves behind his wife of 17 years, and their two girls age 14 and 9. This page is being established by friends of the family to help pay for funeral expenses as well as start a fund for whatever the family may need to get through the coming years.
Please give to help protect this family as Officer Smith did for the City of Dallas. Any amount is appreciated. All of the Smith's family, friends and acquaintances are devastated and are trying to figure out how to help the family navigate through these times. Please help us provide a cushion to the blow of losing their loved one.

I hope you don't mind, I shared this listing with The Russ Martin Listener Foundation group on Facebook. They have a website setup www.russmartin.fm that regularly collects donations. They provide money to families of fallen police and fire personnel. I hope this helps Heidi and the girls! Sending love and prayers!
I remember officer Smith coming over to Cargo to check on the donuts. He would come in and I would put my hands in the air and offer to be arrested (to get some rest after my 3rd double). He'd always say all the beds were full over there. Such a kind face and such a kind man. He will definitely be missed. A great officer and a true gentleman.
God bless you all. Our heart breaks for your loss and the tragedy of the passing of such a good man. Your Dad/Husband is a hero and he will be remembered as such. Please know that thousands of Americans of all colors and religions are praying for you right now and are truly heartbroken over your loss.
Heidi, we are so blessed to have your family as a part of our Mary Immaculate community. We lift you and the girls up in prayer and support. Eternal rest grant unto Mike, O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon him; through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Your husband and father, Mike, was an officer who protected those of us who served the body of Christ. He was diligent, kind, wise, and always shared a smile, a kind friendly greeting and one of the best people I have ever come across. I am so sorry for the loss your family has suffered. I am sorry that we will not see him again until we too are in the presence of our heavenly Father. May God give you a peace and a comfort that surpasses all understanding.
Heidi, we are so sorry for your family's loss. You have been on my mind and in my heart all day. My heart is so heavy for you. I pray that, somehow through all of this, you find peace which only He can give. You and the girls will be in our prayers.
My thoughts and prayers are with you Mrs. Smith and your two daughters. I met Officer Smith about a year and half ago when he was providing security at a Law Firm I worked at. He always had a smile on his face and He was so kind to help if we asked. I am heart broken for your family. May God wrap his arms around you and your girls and give you comfort and guidance in your time of need. God Bless you.
