Mike's Medical Expenses

On Friday afternoon, April 7th, Mike (aka Miguel) headed out to work and like always he was on his Harley Street Guide. If you have to work why not enjoy the journey. It was a beautiful day in San Diego until something went horribly wrong. He tried to make his turn on the overpass to take the exit, but his bike started to wooble throwing him up against the railing, which if he went over he would land on the freeway below. In pulling away from the rail he went down and started to roll and his bike landed on him then he slid for over 50 feet down the asphalt.
When Mike came to a stop he had a collapsed lung, broken left arm in 3 places and his right knee cap was lying bare. He is out of intensive care at Scripps Memorial Hospital and the doctors say Mike is lucky to be alive. They took him off the respirator and he is breathing on his own after just 3 days. They moved him from intensive care yesterday but say that he will be in the hospital for at least another 2 weeks and then he will start physical therapy on his leg and arm.
Mike is my good friend and road dog and I know many of you know him, too. What you may not know is unfortunately Mike has no health insurance! So I I’m sure you can just imagine what his impending medical bills will be like. Mike will not be able to return to work for a very long time. I cannot imagine the financial worry he must have and it is the last thing he needs to think about right now. I decided to do this Go Fund Me for him to give him one thing less to worry about so he can focus on his recovery. He is not asking for this, we are doing this for him and if you can donate anything to help it will all go to him and I know it will be greatly appreciated. Also, please repost this to your Facebook page or any other groups who you know care about fellow riders.
