Going for Gold in Sweden

My name is Mikael. I am 11 years old. In December I was given an incredible opportunity and offered a spot to represent team canada in Sweden at the Warrior Elite Tournament summer 2016. I am a AAA minor peewee Goalie. I was very excited because I lived in Sweden until I was 3. My mom and dad said we could not go because two years ago my mom became very sick, and she spend Nov and then December in ICU or in the hospital. She is in the hospital a lot and has a lot of surgeries. Her next one is January 26. I don't want her to be away again. But I understand.   She has a condition called  EDS TNX.  Everything inside her sort of breaks. They say it's like building a brick house without mortar. So I told them it was ok and I didn't want to seem selfish so I understood. My mom was still in the hospital over Christmas so we didn't get to do anything for the holiday and that's ok, but I decided then I was going to do everything I could to go to Sweden and do my best to win the Gold. So my dad called and found out they still had held my spot ( because they knew my mom had been in a coma)

That means if I can fundraise I can go!  
And either my dad can go with me or another family can bring me.
I know I can do it. 
I play hockey as much as I can and I train very hard.  Every year I fundraise for patients in complex care by raking lawns and trying to help out and I do my best at school too. I don't want to be selfish, but I really really want to be able to show my parents that I can do this and I would love to represent Canada in Sweden. I feel proud that I was given this opportunity.
