Thank you all for your generous contributions. This fund will be used to honor Miha in two special ways:
One, to host a modest Celebration of Life service (details below) and two, the remaining funds will be donated to the amazing volunteer services that contributed to the events of rescuing Miha and his fellow climbers last week. Their services are provided at no charge, by individuals that are passionate about using their skills to support a broader cause. These volunteers contribute their time, their resources, their own equipment and risk their lives to save others. Miha’s family wants to honor their commitment by giving back in this small way.
The Celebration of Life event will be held at Bossanova Ballroom in Portland, OR on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 4-7pm. 722 E. Burnside, Portland, OR 97214. Please join us if you can!
At this event, we will have a couple opportunities to contribute to unique Miha memories:
1. Bring your photos or other mementos to add a page to a memory book. We will provide pages, markers, and some decoration items and you provide the photos and memories. This book will be sent home with Nina to share with Miha’s family – showing all the ways Miha impacted our lives.
2. Slovenia (Love) Miha t-shirts – we have had t-shirts made in Miha’s honor supporting his love of Oregon and Slovenia. Cash donations accepted onsite which will also go to the volunteer organizations noted above.
3. Bring your beer bottle tops, especially Hefeweizen ones, to drop into a special picture frame that will be given to Miha’s family. To save on costs at the event, beer will be provided via kegs, but pop a beer in Miha’s honor today so you can bring some bottle tops to contribute!
And of course, many memories will be shared amongst this amazing group of people who will come together to celebrate our dear friend, Miha.
