Miguel Gonzalez

Donation protected
It has been 2 weeks since 16-year-old Miguel Gonzalez became seriously ill. It began with several trips to the doctor to find out what was causing his fever, sore throat and terrible headaches.

The morning Miguel was to start his junior year at Harding high school in St. Paul Minnesota, his mother Clarissa found him in his bed barely conscious and immediately called an ambulance.

When he arrived at Children's Hospital last week he was having uncontrollable seizures. Miguel was put into a medically induced coma in an attempt to control his seizures. As of today, Saturday September 16, 2017 Miguel has had a spinal tap, multiple MRI’s and other tests yet doctors still don't have a diagnosis.

My name is Cherie James. I am a teacher at Miguel's school, Harding in St. Paul. I am also a friend of the family.

Miguel is a wonderful young man who always has a smile and is full of love and kindness. I remember my last conversation with Miguel. What, I remember most is him smiling and walking away.... shuffling down the hall. He has a unique walk. He is a darling child.

I wanted to create a gofundme page because I want to help alleviate some of the stress and worry that comes with caring for someone so seriously ill. Miguel's mother Clarissa has been with him at the hospital since he arrived. She had to leave her job to be with Miguel.

As a friend, I feel helpless. I can't ease the grief and sadness the family is experiencing but it is my hope we can raise donations to help Miguel and his family alleviate some of the stress and worry that comes with caring for someone so seriously ill.
All donations will go directly to the family.
