On Saturday, March 28th 2015, my Dad went into liver and kidney failure and is currently in critical condition. He had been sick for the past month and went to our family Dr. He was first diagnosed with the flu, then a week later with A - Fib ( irregular heartbeat). He followed up with a cardiologist. He complained of pain in his abdomin, but they said it was due to the heart condition.
For the first three days we were given nothing but bad news. He was on completely sedated and on a ventilator. On Wednesday we were given a smal amount of hope that he could recover. He was taken off the ventilator and out of sedation. He is breathing on his own and able to speak.
With every test they run we face a new set of fears. They have not yet found what is "wrong" or the cause for all the pain. They are doing another CT scan today (April 2nd) to try and find the cause.
The good news so far is that his kidneys are working again and have no damage. He is still in liver failure, but the numbers have improved for the last two days, which means he is "over the hump" the Dr's have said.
We are still in the very early stages of a long journey. The out pouring of prayers. support, and well wishes have been a great help. We continue to get requests to help, so I have started this page for my parents. My Dad has no short term disabilty and in a week will have no more wages coming in. They will face financial hardship quickly, and this is not what we want them worrying about. Any help would be blessing for them during this time.
Thank you all again for all the support. We love you all.
