Michael to Austria Special Olympics

I'm Special Olympic Athlete Michael Heup from Davidsonville Maryland. I was the Law Enforcement Torch Run Ambassador for the Maryland Special Olympics for the past three years. I participate in over fifty Special Olympic events through out the year. I have been a Super Plunger for the Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge where I jump into the FREZZING Chesapeake Bay every hour for twenty four hours. I assist throughout the year helping my Law Enforcement partners raising funds to help all our athletes around the state and to support our athletic events. But more important I love promoting and bringing awareness  for acceptance and inclusion forindividuals with intellectual disabilities.

I have been chosen as one of ten Special Olympic Athletes in the WORLD to participate in the Finial Leg of the 2017 World Special Olympic Winter Games in Austria. During the Final Leg Special Olympic Athletes and Law Enforcement Officers will carry the Flame of Hope to the World Winter Games and light the cauldron to begin the Games.  As our last mission on the Final Leg we will be participating in a Polar Plunge! My goal is to be the number one fundraiser in the World for Special Olympic Athletes . With your help I WILL reach my fund raising goal. All money raised will be used to benefit the Athletes of Special Olympics.
