$11,667 of $50,000 goal

Mia, our sweet and high-spirited little buddy, was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Mia is a 5-year-old cutie, with Down's Syndrome. She has always been energetic and a ball of fun. Around Halloween, 2017, Mia began experiencing severe bone aches. Fevers, a decreased appetite and weight loss began shortly thereafter. Little Mia has been sick and weak, on-and-off, since then, and has had limited abilty to walk, due to the pain she's been experiencing. Mia's parents checked her into the Children's Hospital on Friday, January 20th and yesterday (January 24th), her test results confirmed she has Leukemia. Mia has already had to undergo two surgeries this morning - one to put a port inside her chest, and the second, a cerebral poke, to determine if the leukemia has spread to her spial fluid. Given Mia's disgnosis of Down Syndrome, treatment of her Leukemia can be a bit tricky, as she may not accept the medications as well - they may prove toxic to her body. We are asking for any support you can provide to the family during this difficult time, as the last thing we want them to worry about is finances. With the cost of treatment, hospital stays, compounded by missing work, we are hoping this fund can reduce that stress! We thank you, Mia thanks you. . .# MiaSTRONG

Thank you all so much for your continuous prayers, support and contributions. Temo, Danny, Mia and myself are so very grateful! We are so lucky to have such a great support system.

Mia has been doing okay. The side effects of the chemo have definitely kicked in! My princess is fighting hard! She has a wonderful team of doctors at CHLA. Wednesday is a big day for us! She will be getting a lumbar puncture and another bone marrow biopsy. Please keep her in your prayers!

Hello Team Mia!! I am writing with an update on Mia’s current status. Maggie shared, as of this morning, that Mia was in good spirits, eating and Happy. She is on day 4 of chemotherapy, and will be starting a new treatment today. The Doctor reported her white blood cell count will drop tremendously in the next few days, so visitors will be restricted. However, if she responds positively to this treatment, she may be discharged as of next Monday. If so, Mia will continue chemotherapy at home, with weekly visits to the Children’s Hospital. Our prayers are working everyone, keep them coming. The family thanks you all SO SO much <3
