Running the 2019 London Marathon

Hello all!
My name is Meredith Rice.
Now, I have not always been a runner. In fact, quite the opposite.
I used to avoid running at all costs growing up.
All of that changed in 2013 when I saw a number on my scale that, frankly, scared me.
I decided, no matter how much I disliked it, I had to give running another try.
My goal? To run a 5k without stopping.
70-75 pounds lost (twice), marrying the love of my life, and a handful of races, including a Disney Princess Half Marathon, later and here we are.
I have decided that the only limits I have are the ones that I put upon myself.
That is why I am going after the elusive Six Star Finisher title.
While I may not ever get there (I am looking at you Boston), nothing will stop me from trying.
London has long held a special place in my heart as it was where I studied abroad, made some amazing friends, reconnected with some old ones, and started talking to my now husband.
It seems the perfect stage for my first full marathon.
What could make this even better?
Not running only for me, but using my 26.2 mile journey to raise money for kids to have the ability to start theirs.

I often think, what if I had started sooner? Where would I be?
I, unlike the children I am running for, had every chance to do so.
So, today, I am pledging to keep going to get kids going!
I will run for those that can't in the hopes that, by doing so, they one day can.
As I know, from experience, that once they get going, there will be no stopping them.
Please help me, help them.
Every little bit helps, so let's begin together.
One step at a time.
