Merchant Family House Fire
0% complete
$2,795 raised of $10K
32 donations

On Saturday July 9th the Merchants lost everything they had, including their 3 yr old cat Ernie in a house fire. It destroyed everything.
On Sunday on their way to the wreckage they were involved in a car accident that totaled their car.
Thankfully and most importantly the family was not injured in either accident, and they are all trying to stay optimistic.
Insurance will be involved, but in the meantime they are left displaced without any of even the simplest daily necessities like clothes, and phones. The money raised through here will be given to Gary and Kris Merchant to use as they need to help with the mounting bills, and general living expenses as they try to find a new normal.

What burned down wasn't just a house, this was a home which was full of memories. It saw two kids, Derek and Marci grow into responsible adults, and now swelled with five grandchildren during the holidays.
For anyone that has had the good fortune to meet any of the Merchants, knows how extra sad this is. They are people you want for neighbors, the family you want to vacation with, the ones you want for inlaws, and the ones you want to grab a beer with.

The world is unjust and this string of misfortune is devastating; If you feel helpless and want to do something, or if you heart is heavy like mine please consider donating.
Marci is my Sister-In-Law, but we were friends before. I was instrumental in setting her and my brother Tim up, because I knew that she and her family are one of a kind and I really wanted to keep them around. Now they are my family, and I'll do anything I can to help them.

Any and all donations are very greatly appreciated.
The family is also accepting prayers, hugs and uplifting words.
Thank you in advance for any support donated.
