In early 2017, the Mendocino County Herb Guild took root as an herbal study group. Since then, we've grown into a multi-faceted organization, from fundraising for a mobile community clinic & classroom to organizing a local herb exchange. Last May, in an effort to raise funds for the Guild, we began offering a traditional, locally-sourced, all-organic wellness product we call MENDO VITALITY TONIC.
In just six short months, we have brewed 30 gallons of our Core and Seasonal recipes, sold MENDO VITALITY TONIC to four local retail outlets and one local restaurant, and continue to successfully sell our Tonics at our weekly Farmer's Market booth in Willits.
The Tonic is so well received, that we have offers from two other local retail outlets, and even folks nationwide asking us to sell our tonics online! We've been featured in our local paper, The Willits News, and have been invited to share our vision for the Guild and our Tonics at several local events.
We are asking for our community, locally and nationally, to help us raise the seed money to boost production. Thus far, nearly all ingredients have been donated by local farmers, and the labor to brew, bottle, and label has been 100% voluntary.

THE STORY BEHIND FIRE CIDER:
Fire Cider is just one name for this traditional herb-infused vinegar tonic that herbalists have been making for centuries to support immune and digestive health. In 2014, a company on the East Coast trademarked the name of this traditional remedy, which birthed a movement of herbalists and supporters calling for “Traditions not Trademarks.”
We decided to go one step further, and create our own version of Fire Cider, full of local ingredients (including the Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey!) that supports our vision for a mobile low-cost clinic and apothecary, education and outreach in the community, and more. It also allows us to financially support our local farmers, creating a more resilient economy. Your donation helps to make this possible!

We are a 100% volunteer run group with big dreams. The MISSION of the Guild is to gather as farmers, medicine makers and community members to create Full-Circle Herbalism.
