It is with great sympathy to announce a tragedy that occurred on Sunday August 18th that has greatly effected one of our Arlington families. 

John Hizer was shot and killed by a random act of violence outside of his mother’s home. His wife, Andrea Hizer, is a long time teacher at Arlington Elementary and their 2 children attend Arlington Community Schools. 

I am sure many of your children have had the privilege to have Mrs Hizer as a teacher over the years.  If not, maybe your children have grown up with her and John’s children playing various sports and activities in the community. 

Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers as they try and heal through this tragedy. 

A donation fund has been set up at First Citizens Bank for the benefit of Andrea Hizer. 

Any donation would greatly be appreciated to help ease the burden of losing the primary provider of the family.
