Kurt Thomas Larson, 60, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 26th 2019 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  He was born October 9th 1958 in Superior Wisconsin.  Born and raised in Superior, he developed an early passion for car racing and automobile reconstruction.  That passion brought him to have a successful racing career in Superior and the surrounding cities for over 30 years.

Those that were lucky enough to know and love Kurt knew that his loyalty, friendship, and caring was endless even if you were a stranger in the middle of a grocery store.  Known for his humor and compassion, Kurt felt that if he made one person smile in a day, he had done his job.  Kurt and the love of his life, Paula, treasured every moment they had with family and took immense pride in their grandson, Tyler.  Family was more important to him than anything else, and he cherished all the time he got to spend with brothers and sisters, his son and wife, his numerous nephews and nieces and even grand nephews and nieces.  Always one to help anyone in need, his friends and family could always count on Kurt to drop everything to be there for a conversation and a laugh.  Kurt was loved by countless people, and will be celebrated in life and death as his spirit is in Heaven.  He is making the Angels laugh now.

Kurt is proceeded in death by his father Leo, his mother Margie (Gray), and his brother David.  Kurt will be missed dearly by his loving wife Paula (Kammers), his son Eric and wife Rachael (Klein) and grandsons Tyler and Jacob, granddaughters Mazie and Lexi, his sister-in-law Mary Ann Rothamel (Kammers) and her husband John, their children Jeff (Patty) and sons Seth and Evan, and Jennifer and her son Austin.  He leaves behind 3 brothers, Donald (Bonnie), Duane, Randy, and 5 sisters Judy (Swenson), Cindy, Wendy, Janette and Joyce.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday March 9th at the Cremation Society of Minnesota at 2PM.  The address is Duluth Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth MN 55807. A reception will follow at 3PM with catering provided by Kurt’s catering.

The family would love and encourage you to share your stories about Kurt, it will help create an even richer memory of his spirit for us to always remember.
