Memorial Day March&Mayhem For Them

Welcome! You have found the spot to help support the 2nd Memorial Day March & Mayhem For Them. Whether you are a friendly donor or a friendly business sponsoring us, thank you for being here. If you are sponsoring you can provide your name or you can split your business name into the First Name and Last Name fields so it is featured here as well as the website (don't worry it will be shown as one name here). I will then email you to get your logo and other information if need be.
The purpose of the March and Mayhem is 1. to give us Veterans and Active Duty military an opportunity to reunite and do something meaningful for our fallen comrades. 2. to give others a different, more entertaining opportunity to celebrate the holiday and 3. to bring more attention to the meaning of Memorial Day holiday - it's For Them.
What is the money for? We are getting a great deal but we do need to pay something for the food and entertainment. Other expenses include tshirts, decorations, signage, route supplies and safety equipment. We also want this to be free for Veterans and Active Duty and keep the charge very minimal for the public to come and enjoy, especially this first year with the Mayhem.
Any remaining funds from this year's event will split into a reserve fund for our 2018 March and the rest will be donated to a Veterans related charity that is to be determined. That amount and the charity will be announced at the end of the event. **I want to note we are not a 501 (c)3 non-profit at this point so your donation is not tax deductible.

The March - is aimed at Veterans and Active Duty military from all branches but all are welcome. We will walk the scenic "Great River Road" of 28 miles from Red Wing, MN up to Hastings, MN in about 12 hours on Memorial Day. We walk at a 3mph pace and stop very 3 miles for a 10-15 min break and have route supplies. Along the route are "Honor Markers" with pictures of our fallen comrades to remind us and others who the holiday is for. More information on the event can be found here www.marchforthem.org
The Mayhem - is new this year. We are having more of a celebration for the finish of the March at the Rotary Pavilion in Hastings and are inviting the public to enjoy music and food. A popular local band Voltage will be on stage. A popular local grocery store Ptacek's IGA will be providing the food.
