Melissa Mathews Healing Fund

My name is Kortnie Lynch. I've had the honor of knowing Melissa Matthews for the last 3 1/2 years. She is not only a beautiful mother to her her seven year old daughter Silhouette, she is a woman in recovery who has devoted her life to helping addicts find a new way of life. September 7, 2016 a nightmare began for Melissa, her fiancé, and thier daughter. After working a long shift at the sober living facility  she manages, Melissa went home and got in bed explaining to Jeff her fiancé that she was not feeling well. The next morning Jeff  kissed Melissa on the cheek on his way out the door heading to work. When he returned later that afternoon Silhoutte,  Melissa seven-year-old daughter was watching TV by herself.  She explains to her father that her mom did not wake up all day.  When Jeff tried to wake her up Melissa was unresponsive. After many hours in the emergency room he was told that Melissa had a massive stroke. She had lost all of the use of her right side along with her speech. After countless tests doctors decided that Melissa needed open heart surgery in order to replace a valve in her heart. Unfortunately that was not all she needed. During her recovery in a rehab facility where she was learning to walk again Melissa had another clot In her heart. By the time she got  to the hospital she was in complete heart failure and placed on a ventilator. Melissa ended up having an additional open heart surgery and spent most of the  last two months fighting for her life. Melissa has not been able to work because she has been learning how to walk, learning how to talk, learning how to communicate with  Silhouette. 
As expected, Melissa and her family have been struggling financially. It is uncertain when Melissa will be able to go back to work. The money that is raised  will be used to allow Melissa and opportunity to heal in the house she has worked so hard to obtain. 

It means a lot to me to be able to help this woman who has helped so many. This will give her an opportunity to help her get  back on her feet and back to the amazing work that she does.
