July 10, 2020: Where I Am Today

Megan here. Let me begin by saying thank you. I can’t say thank you enough. All of you have been so wonderful, supporting my family and I throughout my catastrophic, flaming car accident. All your loving words of support, your cards wishing me well (which I have saved and cherish) and finally, all of your donations. 

Since the accident:

·      I have had a total of 18 surgeries. The last few were to remove the cages from my feet that elongated my achilles tendons (to help me walk) and the skin graft surgery on the right side of my neck.

·      I’ve returned to teaching at Kennesaw State University

·      I’ve built multiple large-scale installations including beginning the work on the Beltline project (to be finished this year).

·      I moved into an apartment at a new artist residency in East Atlanta at the Skylark apartment community.

And, I still need more surgeries. On July 22nd, I will say goodbye to my troubled foot when the doctors amputate my left leg below my knee.
