Medications & Home Foreclosure

Friends, this is one of the hardest letters I have ever written. But I am in desparate need of help.

About five years ago, my health started to take a turn. Since then I have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, spinal stenosis, colitis and extreme pain just to the left of my stomach that has put in in the emergency room twice. But the issue has never been identified. In the last 12 months my blood pressure has been running in the 180 to 200 over 100 to 110 range. The blood glucose level runs in the 270 to 350 range. My A1C runs in the 11 range. To top this all off, back around September of 2017 I was diagnosed with a heart condition called LVH with strain. Basically on side of my heart is beating much harder than the other side. This would probably account for why my blood pressure is so erratic, uncontrolled and runs so high. The diabetic nerve pain and spinal stenosis is making it harder to walk every day.

The company I had been working for in 2017 was acquired and merged with a similar company in 2016. As part of the restructuring I was downsized (terminated) on October 31st, 2017. This was my second downsizing event in less than three years working in the IT field. Lost my previous position I held for 15 ½ years when corporate closed our facility here in Lexington, KY.

On December 3rd, 2017 I lost my health insurance. Since that point till today, I have only been able to see my personal doctor once for an emergency. My medications are extremely expensive (the Jardiance alone for Type 2 Diabetes is approximately $440 a month with a Good RX coupon).

I have tried to work through the pain as it has gotten progressively worse over the last three years. I try my best to make do, but the pain I am now in is indescribable and my stress level from all this is off the charts. In June I passed out and went face first into a floor. I also hyper extended my right foot and it kept me from walking for an entire week.

In November of 2017, I sought out the assistance of an attorney and filed for Social Security Disability. As many of you know, this is a long and arduous process that can take years.

But it gets much worse. In December of 2017, I had to file for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. That was completed in May of 2018 and most everything in regards to that is now back to normal with the exception of our home. I have tried to work with our mortgage lender Penny Mac since December to find a way to allow my wife and I to remain in the home, but last month those talks pretty much broke down and they have now started foreclosure proceedings against my wife and I. We simply cannot fight this and in a few months we are going to lose our home.

Just when I think this could not get any worse, Friday August 24th, 2018 I get a letter from the IRS stating that I owe them taxes for 2015 in the amount of $2372.24 due in 30 days or they would start seizing property. There is a question in the air right now as to if the Chapter 7 eliminated this, but as with anything IRS you never know.

This is what I have had to deal with. Earlier this month, wife just got out of her third surgery in the last year and is recovering at home. But she is in tears almost every day over all this and the thought of losing everything we worked so hard for.

I am trying to raise money to help with my health insurance, medications and to get us relocated before the mortgage company evicts us. At this moment, I literally have $155 in the bank and I cannot afford to even get the medicine I need and I am using up the last of what I have now. Without medication alone, I risk amputations, stroke, heart attack or even death.

I have a goal of $3000 in order to get my wife and I some immediate relief, get relocated and help with my medication costs. This is far below what we actually need, but anything you can spare would be most appreciated.

Thank you for your consideration my friends.
