Medical Flight Home
We are trying to raise money to help pay some of the costs of getting a medical Flight home for our very special grandma, mother, and friend. Ruth went on a holiday to visit family in Ontario from her home town in Oliver, BC. While in Ontario, she suffered a debilitating stroke. Being the fighter that she is, she has come through the first weeks of this emergency, and now needs and wants to get home. Even though health care in Canada is universal, it does not cover ANY of the costs of a person in this situation who is trying to get home between provinces in Canada. The funds we are trying to raise will not cover all of these expenses, but any assistance would be a really huge step toward paying for getting her home, where she will continue to get the medical care she needs. She is not well enough to travel on a commercial flight, so the costs to bring her home are very high. Please help if you can. Thank you. ❤❤❤+ Read More
It's been about a month since we said goodbye to Ruth. We're saddened by her absence in each of our lives. But she made it back to her home town, which was her biggest wish. A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who helped make that possible. We'll be closing down this fund raiser in the next few days. Again, thank you from our all hearts.
A big "Thank You" goes to all the people who have helped financially, sent their love via messages and texts, and those who have been able to come and visit personally at the hospital. Unfortunately, in spite of all efforts, and all the prayers and well wishes, we have been told by the doctors that there is not a lot of hope for improvement at this time. We are also so thankful that we have been able to see such caring, top notch medical support here at the hospital. It's now up to Ruth to take these days and this time in her life to relax and let Life's Journey take her to her place in God's Hands. When this new journey will start no one knows.
Today was a long difficult day, as the Charter flight left from Ontario and flew across Canada. We were able to say hi as Ruth was checked back into hospital here in town. She is very weak but was awake. We all love her.
