Whitney High School Sophomore Noah Lease-Kennedy was seriously injured on the field during the JV football game against Central.  Noah was taken by ambulance to Sutter Roseville with severe abdominal pain.

After a CT scan was performed, it was determined that Noah had a lacerated spleen and was bleeding internally.  Coils were inserted into his spleen to stop the bleeding.

Noah has been in the ICU since Friday night.  On Sunday morning, Noah still had bleeding in his abdomen.  The artery were they put the coil in and embolized is holding, however more than two-thirds of his spleen was damaged and it's still losing blood.  The doctors estimate that he has lost about 1 1/2 liters of blood and there is still about a liter of blood in his abdomen.  They are still determining whether of not to remove his spleen.

Noah is a great deal of pain and is not out of the woods yet.  If they don't have to remove his spleen, he will be moved into a regular hospital soon.  As of September 4, Noah is still on the Neuro Trauma Unit ICU at Sutter Roseville.

Noah, his mom Renee' and two sisters live in Rocklin.  As you can imagine, medical bills will start to come in soon. The monies raised by this campaign will go directly into an account to help pay for those bills once they come in.  Any amount will help! I know the whole family will appreciate your generosity!

Another update:

so I just wanted to update you on Noah...He still has alot of pain but his spirits are high. I made his favorite dinner spaghetti and meatballs add all his closest Family here tonight for dinner. He got his laughter back! It almost seemed like a normal family dinner. Other than his pain, it was a good night!

We would like to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude for everyone's support during his scary football injury. To all those who contributed to the Gofundme to ease the medical bills -we love and appreciate you all. Noah had so many prayers going out that he was surely blessed from above. Thanks from the bottom of our hearts!

I heard from Renee', Noah's mom-Noah had about 3/4 of a liter of fluid drained off his lungs today so he's still in the hospital. Please continue to keep Noah and his family in your thoughts and prayers!

Hi everyone! Thank you so very much for your generosity towards Noah and his family! Here's an update on his health: He had a CT scan this morning. The doctor has stated that it's looking good! It looks like Noah will keep his spleen! His real issue right now is the blood (from the internal bleeding) that surrounds his spleen. That cavity of blood could rupture and then they'd have to take the spleen. If he takes it easy, he should be good! As long as he continues to make progress, he may be able to go home this Friday! Noah does have to wait until all of that blood has been reabsorbed by his body, so he will have to miss a couple weeks of school!

So proud of our community! You guys are the best!
