In 2008, Paige Marie was Diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type 1. (AKA NF1). She has received several MRI’s to closely watch the disease.
In 2013, she had to undergo a surgery to remove a tumor that grew on her spine and heart and lung, they were successful in removing the tumor from her spine, because the surgery was so intense they did not perform the second part of that surgery, they have continuously watched the tumor that is touching her heart and lung.
In a recent MRI, they have discovered that Paige’s Spine has went from a 20% curve to almost a 90% curve, she was sent to Boston by her Neurosurgeon here get a second opinion on what can be done.
They have decided that a surgery will need to be done, after intense traction of her spine. Both the traction and surgery will be done in Boston. Paige will be spending 4-6 weeks in Boston @ Children’s Hospital. The first 4-5 weeks Paige will undergo Spinal Traction to relieve some of the curve in her spine, once the Dr’s feel as though they have done all they can do with the traction, they will then do a Spinal Surgery, once the surgery is complete, Paige will be there for another week, allowing recovery and the okay to travel back home.
Her surgery will be within the next 1-2 months.
This fundraiser will to be raise funds for the travel expenses, for her parents Frank and Debby. As you can imagine this has been an enormous strain on Frank and Debby.
We are starting things off with A Gold Canyon Candle Fundraiser, and may be adding to the fundraising as well as a benefit as we go along, we will take any ideas, suggestions, and help you have. Please feel free to contact us.
