I am working extremely hard towards my goal of being a member of the Ladies European tour (L.E.T.) I am a Professional golfer originally from Troon, but currently working full time in Edinburgh to support myself, while training and practicing as much as I can.
In order to gain playing rights on the L.E.T. I have to attend and qualify through two weeks of competition at the L.E.T. qualifying school which is staged in Morocco.
I wanted to come up with a unique way in which I could raise the necessary funds whilst also raising donations for a charity close to my heart Cancer Research UK.
The work of cancer research UK is at the forefront of the fight to find a cure for this terrible disease which effects 1 in 3 of us and has directly impacted me, my friends and my family. Currently my Gran know to all as Granny McQueen is having a second battle with cancer. She is an inspiration to my family and myself and her positive attitude and strength is something I look up to.
In 2014 I was able to raise money and awareness for the charity while undertaking a golf marathon in Tennessee. This involved playing golf from sunrise to sunset whilst attempting to play as many holes as possible.
I am incredibly fortunate and extremely grateful that Royal Troon Golf Club, the host course of the 2016 Open Championship have supported me, along with the Ladies club in allowing me to use this prestigious historic championship course for my golf marathon in the run up to the Open. I cannot thank them enough for their ongoing support.
My Golf Marathon will take place on Monday 20th of June while the course is closed to public play for the run up to The Open. I am hoping to play as much golf as possible during my marathon and I am seeking sponsorship or donations which will be equally divided between the cost of playing in the L.E.T. Qualifying school and Cancer Research UK.
100% of any sponsorship or donations above my goal amount will go directly to the charity.
