He's right. But I can also tell you that it feels exactly like that EVERY time you end up homeless, not just the first time.
I'm Veronica Harnish, author of Car Living When There's No Other Choice . I wrote that book back in Spring, 2013, to help others who might need to know that kind of information should the unthinkable happen to them, and they find themselves homeless.
Since I wrote the book, I have suffered two additional bouts of car living due to lack of affordable housing and lack of a living wage. In a few days, I have to move out of my affordable rental that was sold to wealthy Silicon Valley retirees who don't want to be landlords.
It will be the fourth time the cat and I will be living in the car. That's four times too many.
Even $1K in savings won't save me from the streets. So I'm looking to raise enough money to combine with my savings to scratch together first/last/deposit on an affordable rental, should I be able to find one.
Your help is deeply appreciated, and I'm truly grateful to all.
