On January 12, 2017 Steve Fox, 33, lost his courageous year long battle with cancer. Steve leaves behind his wife, Kristina, and three beautiful girls. Our hearts our broken. Steve meant so much to his family.
My name is James Green. I set up this account, initially, for my brother in-law Steve Fox. He became ill one year ago. Steve had a seizure January 13, 2016 and was transported to the local hospital. While in the hospital, Steve seized again, forcing doctors to put him in a medically induced coma for many hours. Testing revealed approximately 16 different lesions in his brain. The doctors believed they were being caused by cancer somewhere in his body but were unsure where. Steve embarked upon a year long fight. He had some successes, but ultimately, the cancer won. Throughout all the treatments and bad news, Steve remained his joking, jovial self, always upbeat, even though he worried about his children and his wife. Steve was a loving father and husband.
Steve was the sole provider for his family, due to Kristina’s debilitating latex allergy. It’s so severe, it really prevents her from leaving their apartment, unless it’s to a known safe area.
Steve was an active member in the community and worked with the Batavia Emergency and Disaster Agency on a volunteer basis. He has been volunteering with the department since 2009. Steve also worked as an auxiliary police officer from 2004 through 2008 on a purely volunteer basis. His aspirations were to become a police officer.
Steve was unable to work while receiving treatment, and worried about how his family would live without a breadwinner and father. Any money donated will go to the family’s current and future bills for their residence, as well as any hospital bills they may have.
I want to thank everyone for taking the time to read this, and to those who are able to donate or pass the word along. It means a lot to me and to Steve’s family.
