MAYFIELD STEAM BUS PROJECT

The STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) bus is a project created by a team of Mayfield High School students, with a goal to create a mobile classroom filled with hands-on learning opportunities. The STEAM Bus will be a collaborative learning space that will allow students and community members a chance to experience the world of STEAM hands on. The coolest part? The whole space will be inside of a former school bus!
These Mayfield students, along with a team of dedicated teachers, have spent months researching, brainstorming, designing and planning the future of the STEAM Bus. They've dedicated countless hours to creating models, building prototypes and even visiting other schools to see how they have brought a similar idea to life. These students are not receiving credit for their hard work, but are rather working because they are passionate about creating learning opportunities for their peers, and for others in the community.
The STEAM Bus, when it is completed, will have 3D printers, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, and other state of the art technology. All of these assets will allow students to learn creatively, outside of the normal classroom setting. In addition, the bus will have its own wifi network, computers, and printers and other materials students may not have access to at home. Lessons in the STEAM bus will incorporate science, math, technology, creativity, design, and problem-solving.
In order to bring the vision of these students to life, we need your help! In order to turn a regular school bus into this innovative and creative space, we need help from the community to reach these goals. Please consider donating to help bring the STEAM bus from a vision to a reality!
